Boston Dynamics Spot is the world's best-selling industrial quadruped — over 1,500 units in active use across manufacturing, energy, construction, government and research. At 33.8 kg it carries 14 kg of payload, walks at 1.6 m/s and perceives its surroundings in 360° with five stereo cameras. It safely handles steps up to 30 cm and slopes up to ±30°.

Unlike pure research platforms, Spot is a productive tool with the largest software and payload ecosystem on the market. Modules such as Spot Arm (manipulation, opening doors), Spot CAM+ (thermal + PTZ zoom) and LiDAR extend its reach; with Autowalk and Orbit software, inspection routes can be recorded and driven autonomously, including auto-docking for 24/7 operation. With IP54 and a -20 to 55 °C range it works in harsh conditions too. Against the Unitree B2, Spot wins on software maturity, autonomy and support — while the B2 offers higher payload at a lower price.
